HP EliteBook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am using HP Elitebook 840 G3 laptop with i7 processor 32 GB RAM and 1 TB Hard Disk. OS is Windows 10 64 bit professional. This laptop was purchased 6 months back and currently in HP Warranty.

Currently facing problem that system is extremaly slow and almost stops working and hangs up. In Task Manager it shows 100% disk problem and computer stops working. Problem which is causing problem is not highlighted.

We have tried numerous options and suggestions available on HP Forum and Google but none of them have worked. Even uninstalled  programs, updates and drivers on laptop and reinstalled them from HP website but result is same. Problem is still not resolved.

Requesting help in resolution of problem.

You might try using HP Image Assistant (HPIA)

This tool will examine your current image and see if there are any recommendations for fixing potential issues.

Before you start deleting everything and starting from scratch, use Task Manager and click the CPU column to sort the programs by usage. The ones which are using a lot of CPU cycles are your problem. The same with the Disk column.

Assuming that you haven't filled your disk up, then check what's using the most and see about those things.

It goes without saying that you must have a good anti virus program running with the definitions up to date.
