I’m trying to create a case, because i desperately need a technician to come out and help with my HP 840 G9 notebook. My device has CARE PACK. However, it’s not coming in, no lights, nothing.  It’s not even charging.

Hello Keshsew,

Thank you for posting your concern,

If your HP EliteBook 840 G9 is not powering on and you're experiencing issues with it not charging or showing any lights, and you have an active HP Care Pack, it is indeed a situation where you might need technical assistance. Here’s how you can proceed:

Steps to Create a Support Case

  1. Gather Information: Make sure you have all relevant information at hand, such as your notebook's model number, serial number, proof of purchase, and details of your HP Care Pack.

  2. Visit HP Support: Go to the HP Support website (HP Support).

  3. Contact Support: Navigate to the support section and look for options to contact HP support. You may need to provide your product details to see the support options available to you.

  4. Sign in and Create a Case: If you have an HP account, sign in. You should be able to access a section where you can create a new support case. Provide details of the issue and mention your Care Pack service.

  5. Chat or Call: If available, use the chat service or phone numbers provided to get immediate assistance. This can help expedite the process, especially when needing on-site technical support.

Troubleshooting Steps to Try

Before contacting support, consider trying the following basic troubleshooting steps, if you haven’t already:

  1. Hard Reset: Disconnect the notebook from power. Remove the battery if it’s removable. Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to perform a hard reset. Reconnect the power (and battery if applicable), and try to start the notebook.

  2. Check Power Adapter: Ensure the power adapter is functioning by trying it with another compatible HP device or using a different power adapter with your notebook.

  3. Inspect Power Port: Check for any obvious damage or debris in the power port of the notebook which might be preventing a proper connection.

Since you have an HP Care Pack, ensure you mention it when creating the case to highlight your coverage for easier reference. An HP technician should be able to diagnose the issue further and provide the necessary on-site service as per your Care Pack agreement.
