HP EliteBook 865 16 inch G9 Notebook PC (473R7AV)
Linux

Hello,

despite the documentation about the BIOS setup layout, I can not find any Thunderbolt configuration options on my EliteBook 865 G9, BIOS 1.10.01. There is only a single switch in "Advanced / System Options", called "Thunderbolt Mode". But neither in the "Port Options" menu are any further options available, and there is also no "Thunderbolt Options" menu visible. This is a bad showstopper, since without those options, I can not enable pre-boot access to my Thunderbolt docking station (cf. https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c06029075).

Can somebody give me advice where those options are hidden, or how I can accomplish my goal to have pre-boot access to my Thunderbolt docking station (especially display and USB keyboard)?

Thanks!

I do not see any Linux support for your 865 G9

Do you have the thunderbolt port option?  it is item 3 in the below 865-G9 options listed on page 5

The 865 G9 does not support TB4, hence no thunderbolt port option is designated on the case. It does, however, support USB 4.0, which includes TB3. And thats working flawless once the operating system is booted, even with Linux. However, pre-boot, I can neither see any display output nor use any USB input devices. The BIOS contains a single option to enabled/disable thunderbolt support, but appears to lack all the other options required to configure thunderbolt at BIOS level.
