USB-C Dock G5

Brand new G5 docking station does not appear to be receiving power. When plugged in the light on the bottom of the dock does not turn on. I have tested that the charging cable itself works. When the charging cable is plugged directly into my laptop my laptop charges. II have tried unplugging and re-plugging the charging cable, but nothing changed. Is there anyway to fix this or is this docking station a dud?

I don't know why HP puts the light at the bottom, sounds like we do not need it. Any way, please return it and get a replacement.
