USB-C Dock G5 not connecting to my HP Envy Laptop

I am having trouble connecting my G5 docking station to my HP envy laptop. The dock works with my other laptops (a Dell and a different HP) but when I try connecting it to the Envy the power light doesn't turn on and my laptop doesn't recognize anything in the usb-c port. I have tested the port with an usb-c iphone charger and it works just fine, it is only the dock that doesn't work. 

P.S

When I tested it with the other laptops, I didn't change what was plugged in and it worked fine with those.

The specs of your machine shows it has

• 1 Hopeless USB-C port
• 1 Thunderbolt4 port

HP USB-C G5 dock is NOT compatible with your machine BUT it may work with the  Thunderbolt™ 4 port, not the hopeless USB-C port
