I got an Elitebook 860 about a month ago. When I first used the laptop, the USB-C ports would supply power to an external monitor but would not display any video. This was the same for a docking station, no video would pass through. I figured it was just a new laptop and updated everything with the most current software. I updated the firmware to 01.06.10 Rev.A from July 2025 and now video passes through the docking station and the external monitor, but power has to be supplied through the external device. If I have the power cable plugged in through the laptop, the external monitor will not work. I have to plug the charger into the external monitor and then plug the monitor into the laptop. I have had this external monitor for a while, and it works on every other laptop I have used except this one. The Elitebook 860 is supposed to be the best of the bunch. I tested on an 845 and everything worked perfectly. The laptop even powered the monitor and displayed video through the USB-C without external power. This seems to be a fix needed with a new firmware version as nothing has worked up to this point. Any help would be awesome!
