yes exaclty whatever you are mentioning i tried, i try to connect old usb 2.0 but nothing happens but with usb 3.0 it works fine, optical mouse does'nt work.
and i tried every possible way present on internet, formating and reinstalling windows , updating bios, updating all drivers, uninstalling usb drivers from device manager.

The most likely explanation to my mind is that the USB 2 support on the system board is damaged based on the diagnostics fail and your reported symptoms. Diagnostics does not depend on the drivers in Windows, though you were correct to try updating drivers and the BIOS.
If you have any warranty remaining, contact HP about warranty service. If you do not have any warranty, you will need to decide what to do, as a replacement system board is expensive and you will need to get a HP service centre to 'tattoo' the new board with your system's serial number and other details.

Hi experts & all,
i have the same problem, same notebook pc, hp elitebook 820 g2. But OS is Windows 7 (64bit).
Problem only happened today, after having this pc for a long time.
I have back-read this topic, and for clarification, the official solution for this problem (with win10) was updating System BIOS & HW Diagnostics UEFI ? Could it work with a Win7 OS pc ?
best regards & God bless

Hi experts and all,
I guess I'm answering my question now, and resolution is updating System BIOS.
For my hp elitebook 820 g2 with windows 7 (64bit), i downloaded the update from here...
followed the instruction during BIOS update, then after reboot, 2x USB 3.0 ports are now working.
best regards and God bless
