When trying to register the U85ZFE care pack, I get this error

Error: REG030:Unable to accept this registration because the Object of Service was not validated against the Obligation Services.

In the end it was an error in HP's database. The same serial number was associated with another older device. Now they have corrected the problem and to check the warranty I have to enter the serial number and type of product.

Hi @mc712 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see you need help with the new printer registration. May I know if are you referring to the HP product? If yes, Please follow the steps below.

Registration and Profiling

Each customer has an opportunity to customize his or her HP experience on the Registration and Profiling area. They can register their products, update their customized information, and/or view a listing of their registered products. The following show the available choices on the Web site.

I Am a New Visitor

  • I want to create a profile (Profile Registration)
  • Creating a User ID
  • Select a user ID that will be easy to remember. HP recommends using an e-mail address.
  • Creating a Password
  • The chosen password must be between 5 and 12 characters, and be any combination of keyboard characters.

I Am a Returning Visitor

  • I want to register products
  • I want to view my products
  • I want to update my profile
  • After the correct username and password are entered, it is possible to enter the product's serial number(s) and then see it, or them in the list that appears. The current profile can also be updated.

If you are trying to register a care pack. Please follow this link: https://www.hp.com/us-en/services/consumer/carepack-registration.html

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Mc712,

And how did you figure out that the S/N was a duplicate? Did you manage to call HP?

And which link did you finally use to submit the care pack registration? I am getting exact the same error when trying to register a care pack, I am entering the product number (+ serial, of course), but I still get the same error.

If someone can, please, share a currently working phone number or chat option (with human) to handle care pack issues in Europe (English or Spanish), it would be great.

Thanks!

Hello TSant,

the serial number was a duplicate because when I entered it into the warranty check, a different product built 8 years earlier came out. I had to send photos of the labels (box and device) to my supplier who reported the matter to HP.

I see... well, in my case, that will not work. The previous supplier no longer exists...

But I managed to get an email address to submit the invoice and device details, via a whatsapp chat. Let's see if that will help.

Here's the information, in case someone needs it:

Anyway, thanks a lot for your quick reply!
