HP EliteBook 840 G2 Notebook PC

Dear HP Technical Support Team,

My name is Krzysztof, and I am writing to you regarding my HP EliteBook 840 G2 laptop, which I purchased as off-lease equipment from the Netherlands. The laptop was acquired by my company, Feniks-Finanse, and is currently in my possession.

I am facing an issue with accessing the BIOS settings as I have not been provided with the BIOS password. Consequently, I am unable to make changes to the BIOS settings, such as altering the boot device order or performing a BIOS update.

Here are the details of my laptop:

General Specifications:

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Version: 19045.3803

Microprocessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz

System Memory: 12 GB

Memory Slot 1: 8GB Hynix/Hyundai 1600MHz

Memory Slot 2: 4GB Ramaxel 1600MHz

System Board:

KBC Version: 96.5B

BIOS Version: M71 Ver. 01.18

Video:

Graphics Device 1: Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500

Current Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

Driver Version: 20.19.15.5166 (8.8.2020)

Audio Device 1: Realtek High Definition Audio

Driver: RTKVHD64.sys

Version: 6.0.1.7564

I kindly request urgent assistance in this matter. Could you please provide me with the BIOS password or offer instructions on how to reset it?

Thank you in advance for your attention to my case. I look forward to a prompt response and resolution to this issue.

Best regards,

Hello.

The forum rules prohibit giving any information about bypassing security mechanisms, including passwords.

Your best option would be asking the seller to either get you the BIOS password, or return the laptop for a refund since you have been sold a device that is not fully functional.
