Hi
I have Hp pavilion 15eg2586tu. It has pre-installed 8 GB (4+4) of 3200 MHz frequency bus speed!
I have checked the maximum ram capacity by cmd and found 16Gb. I want to buy two rams of 8 + 8 = 16Gb from an online shopping store and want to upgrade by myself as the local shop from where I brought the laptop will charge extra money to set up the ram.
So, my question is that will that void my laptop's warranty? I have a total of 3 years of warranty (1-year manufacturing warranty + 2 years additional coverage)
Thanks
Arafat

Warranty is a grey/gray, area very hard to say in concrete. For new generation machines, adding something or fixing something is a work for Authorized Service Provider parts . You can add yourself. If something went wrong due to this upgrade, I think HP would not honor warranty.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.
