The Elitebook 860 G11 will act like it is in hibernation mode when plugged into a power source. This seems to be especially true when the power source is a monitor with a built-in hub or docking station (724pu). Most of our 860's are at BIOS 1.6.10 which supposedly fixed the issue (it did not), and I have installed 1.7.2 on about 25 860's, and it does not fix the problem either. I am also beginning to think that when the lid closed and attached to a 724pu, even though the all the lid settings in Windows 11 are to do nothing, it goes to sleep anyway which takes the 860 offline and not able to get patches or updates.

Methods of wake up that I use when it is inaccessible is to plug in a USB mouse. Sometimes that alone will wake it, sometimes it takes a few opening and closings of the lid along with it. Sometimes using a regular power supply will wake it, sometimes I need to move the power plug from one USB-C plug to the other on the laptop. Sometimes opening and closing the lid several times will wake it up (seldom).

I now have to instruct users that when they bring the laptop back to the office to plug into the 724pu monitor, that they first open the lid and make sure the 860 is showing that Windows is running before they plug in the monitor. I have also seen a time or two that the  860 will go to sleep after plugging in the 724pu using this method.

I would like to know when a BIOS update greater that 1.7.2 will be available to fix this problem. I have about 10 860's that I can test it on.
