Sounds like it does not support 2.5" HDD/SSD. Page 3 of the following manual says nothing about 2.5" HDD/SSD

Well but it has the sata port and it recognize my 8TB 2.5" SATA SSD just fine

just the plastic spacer is missing i could cutt some fome in shape but would preffer the original frame.

Here http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07681129.pdf on page 28 it mentiones the hdd option but woithout saying where to get the braket 😞 or what part number it would have.

the sata calbe is mentioned as part of the cable kit, but as said i already have it i only need some mechanical fixation for the ssd

Sorry I don't know. It may already there. HP has 2 Maintenance and Service Guides for a same product only 1 month apart and they are not the same !!! Manuals should show part # for all components.

So where do we go from here, how do I get the right bracket to keep my expensive 8TB SSD snug inside my even more expensive new laptop?
