HP 250 G8 Notebook PC. Windows 11 Pro 24h2. I am currently having problems connecting to any wifi networks, whether they be at home or at school, or even data sharing via Hotspot. I tried all the troubleshooting tips but none of them seemed to have worked thus far. Please help.

@Anonymously_me, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve Wi-Fi connectivity issues on your HP 250 G8 Notebook PC:
-
Check Wi-Fi Switch or Function Key:
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi is turned on. Some laptops have a dedicated Wi-Fi button or a function key combination (such as Fn + F12) to toggle Wi-Fi on and off.
-
Update Wi-Fi Drivers:
- Navigate to Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting "Device Manager."
- Expand the "Network adapters" section, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and choose "Update driver."
- Select "Search automatically for updated driver software" to let Windows update the driver, or visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers manually.
-
Network Reset:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.
- Click on "Network reset" and follow the prompts to reset your network settings. Note: This will remove all your network adapters and reinstall them.
-
Check Wi-Fi Settings:
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is not set to "metered." Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks, select your network, and ensure "Set as metered connection" is turned off.
-
Power Management Settings:
- In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and go to "Properties."
- Under the "Power Management" tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
-
Command Prompt Commands:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Run the following commands:
netsh winsock resetnetsh int ip resetipconfig /releaseipconfig /renewipconfig /flushdns
- Restart your computer after running these commands.
-
Hardware Check:
- Verify that the wireless card is seated correctly in the laptop (if accessible and replaceable). This may require a professional check if you are not familiar with hardware troubleshooting.
-
Router and Network Check:
- Ensure the issue is not with the network itself by connecting another device. Restart your modem and router to refresh the network connection.
I hope this helps!
Take care and have an amazing day!
