Welcome to HP Support Community, @Miny_Ypie

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Step 1: Ensure Proper USB Formatting and Setup

  • Verify that your USB drive is formatted as FAT32.
  • Confirm that the HP Cloud Recovery Tool successfully copied the recovery ISO to the USB drive.
  • If uncertain, recreate the bootable USB using the HP Cloud Recovery Download Tool.
  • Use a USB drive with at least 32 GB capacity.
  • Avoid using other software to create the bootable media.

Step 2: Check BIOS Settings

  • Power off the computer completely.
  • Turn it back on and immediately press Esc to open the Startup Menu.
  • Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • In the BIOS menu:
  • Ensure the USB drive is set as the first boot device (found under Boot Order or Boot Options).
  • Disable Secure Boot, if enabled.
  • Enable Legacy Support, if available.
  • Save changes and restart the system with the USB drive inserted.

Step 3: Run HP Recovery Manager (if available)

  • If your system shipped with HP Recovery Manager, you can access it by pressing F11 repeatedly as soon as the laptop powers on.
  • Once in Recovery Manager, choose System Recovery to restore the factory image.
  • If F11 doesn’t launch the tool, proceed with the USB recovery method.

Step 4: Verify HP Cloud Recovery Tool Settings

  • Make sure you’re entering the correct Product ID.
  • This is typically printed on a sticker located on the bottom, back, or inside the battery compartment of your HP laptop.
  • It usually appears as Product ID: XXXXXXX#XXXX.
  • Enter the ID exactly as shown, including any hyphens or special characters.

Step 5: Redownload or Update the Recovery Tool

  • Go to the HP Software & Drivers page
    for your specific model.
  • Download the latest version of the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.
  • Updates often fix product recognition or boot menu issues.
  • Recreate the recovery USB using the updated tool.

Step 6: Check for Physical Hardware Problems

  • Even if HP diagnostics report no issues, it’s good to double-check:
  • Remove and reinsert the internal storage drive (SSD/HDD) to ensure a secure connection.
  • Try using a different USB drive or port if boot still fails.
  • Avoid USB hubs during recovery.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
