HP EliteBook 845 G7 Notebook PC (8VZ06AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

During the execution of the HP BIOS and system firmware update sp152637.exe, my notebook with HP Sure Start got broken. The video signal stopped forever, and the notebook just gets hot when I power it on. This HP BIOS and system firmware (S77) version 01.17.00 was withdrawn in the meantime. Assuming that it has already been analyzed what issue the update program sp152637.exe may cause, where can I obtain information specific to sp152637.exe about how to fix the issue? In such a case, do HP provide any assistance free of charge to affected users after the expiry of the notebook's warranty such as specific repair instructions for this particular failed BIOS update?

Hello.

This seems like the exact same problem people are having with Probook 455 G7 BIOS updates. There are at least three different threads about it already.

What you need to do is to contact HP support directly about this problem and ask them to fix it. Since the BIOS was withdrawn, and this concerns multiple users, HP is fully aware of the problem.

And another broken BIOS report from 2024-05. Probably the same problem.
