HP EliteBook 6 G1a 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC (B14F6AV)

Hello to whoever is reading this.
I got the screen on my HP Elitebook 6 G1a replaced due to touch screen issue and the new screen they installed has a yellow tint (the one on the right in the image).

I contacted the support, they told me to visit the place I got the screen replaced (my college ICT cell affiliated to the service centre). They showed me another replacement panel and even that had this yellowness, so they cannot help me out with this as the replacement screens they are getting are all having this yellow tint. They further told me to contact the support for a screen replacement as they cannot help me with this due to the condition of the screens they are receiving, the support has the option for home visit replacement as per what they mentioned. I contacted the support again and they told me to visit the place I got the screen replaced as I had not got it replaced from their side.

To get it straight, they are just looping me around with no one capable of helping me out.

Anyway, before anyone points it out, the yellowness persists even in the UEFI settings, so it is not a Windows problem (my PC is a dual boot, even fixing it using frugal methods on Windows or anything would not help me out).

How do I possibly get my screen replaced or get rid of this yellowness at the firmware level?

Thank you to whoever read it all.

Hi @prysp,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for sharing the detailed information and the photo.

From your description, the yellow tint is visible even in the UEFI/BIOS environment, which does suggest that this is not related to Windows settings, drivers, color profiles, or your dual-boot configuration.

To better understand the repair history and explore the available options, could you please clarify the following:

  • Was the display replacement performed through an HP Authorized Service Center?
  • Did you receive a job sheet, repair report, or service invoice for the display replacement?

All HP Authorized Service Centers typically provide a job sheet or repair documentation after service is completed. This information can help us review the repair details and determine what options may be available.

For your privacy and security, please do not post the job sheet or personal information publicly. Instead, share the repair details, job sheet number, and any related service documentation through a private support channel when requested.

Once we have those details, we can look further into the repair history and try to identify the best path forward for additional assistance regarding the replacement panel and the color tint concern.

We look forward to your update.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello @VikramTheGreat
You sent me the message right after I contacted the support, and they agreed to pay me a visit to my house with a technician.

I have all the documentation, including the job sheet and all. The place where I got the screen replaced was authorised.

My only concern at the moment is that whenever I talk to anyone (HP support and even the service centre where I got the screen replaced) regarding this issue, they refuse to acknowledge the yellowness at first until I show them another computer of the similar model. I don't even know whether I will be having another computer of the similar model when the technician arrives at my house.

Thank you for your suggestion thou

Hi @prysp,

Thank you for taking the time to update us, and we're pleased to hear that HP Support has already arranged for a technician visit.

We also appreciate you confirming that the display replacement was performed through an HP Authorized Service Center and that you have the job sheet and supporting documentation available.

We understand your concern regarding the yellow tint and the difficulty you've encountered when trying to demonstrate the issue. Please don't worry if you do not have another identical system available when the technician arrives. The onsite technician will inspect the notebook and review the service history, replacement details, and current display condition as part of the evaluation.

Since the issue has already been escalated and an onsite visit has been scheduled, the visiting technician will be in the best position to assess the display and determine the appropriate next steps.

Thank you for your patience and for working with HP throughout this process. If you need any assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here on the HP Support Community.

We wish you all the best, and we hope the upcoming service visit helps bring this matter to a satisfactory resolution.

I'm an HP Employee.
