My HP ZBook 17 G3 is 2nd hand & the power adapter (HP Part No 608431-001) isn't the original one  - it needs a adapter cable to fit in the charging port/socket. It’s also very big & heavy.

How do I find out which is the correct power adapter for this laptop, please? I've searched in the HP shop for power adapters but not found any relevant info...I guess it's an oldish machine now so they only seem to list more up to date ones.

by the way, what does the G3 mean...3rd generation? I've noticed there are G5s, G10s, G13s

TIA

Hi @Jeff-sk

The part number is as follows, use that part number in an internet search engine to find a reseller

200 W HP Smart adapter (PFC, 4.5 mm, slim, 3 p) 835888-001

HP as it moves forward with new models of a series changes it to G3, G4, etc. ... n

Thanks,

that was much more helpful than the person in the chat function on the HP support site! 😊

edit:

PFC...?

could you clarify  - 200 W means 200 watts?

3 p...?

835888-001...i'm guessing that's the part number?

Thanks
