Product: HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation

My ZBook G5 had a annoying audio issue: the icon on the task bar has a red cross saying: Geen apparaat voor geluidsweergave geïnstalleerd (No audio output device is installed). I'm wondering if this a hardware issue or a software issue.
Situation:

- Clean reinstall of Windows 10 using HP Sure Recover

- Updated BIOS to the latest HP Firmware

- Installed all of the available Updates

- Running Windows 10 Pro 22H2, 19045.3570

- Conexant ISST Audio driver 9.0.278.130 date 29-6-2021

 

I can connect an hear music on an external audio device using Bluetooth. However, I can't select the Hoofdtelefoon (Headphones) en Luidspreker (Speakers).

 

I've installed different audio drivers but none of this seems to help. I've run the HP Audio test but no problems detected.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Well, I already tried one, but didn't help unfortunately.  However, today I reset all the BIOS settings to Factory Defaults, and guess what....we've got sound!!! Still can't understand what cause the problem, but this puzzle has been solved.

I would suggest install hp support assistant and let this application install required drivers.
