Hi 🙂
I have the HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G9 Mobile Workstation PC, and a monitor with integrated hub which supports 95W charging via USB C.
However, the monitor does not charge my laptop. I suspect an issue with the monitor, its old and possibly out of spec. It does charge other devices, however (MBP, SP9, my old Lenovo).
I would like to know what minimum power the Zbook requires (in Watts) in order to charge via its USB C port, so I can purchase a suitable dock, but can't find any spec.
Cheers! 🙂

Its specs
https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c08150789
Depending on your option(s) it need at least 120W for an AC Adapter or 150W AC adapter. Your monitor has wattage rating for PD is only 95W, it should charge your machine during your machine is off.
Machine has Thunderbolt™ 4 port, HP has few Thunderbolt™ 4 docks. Please check the bottom of the following page

My suggestion: Buy 280W, you may need more juice latter.
Regards.

I have the same question. I tried to charge it with a Lenovo dock that was provided by a company I visited, but that did not work. I had to use my own power adapter and extension cables. It would be good to know the specs, so I can give them to an organizing committee, before a visit.
It may not only be the required minimal power, but also the Power Delivery (PD) version and thus the related voltage/current options.
There is a HP document for the older ZBook G4-G7 versions: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06473057
There is also another document "Z Technical Whitepaper, Configuring Multiple Displays on HP ZBook G7, G8, G9 and G10"( https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA5-2657ENW ) which lists some details on page 9 for the ZBook Power G9 (among others) and docking stations.
For the combination ZBook Power G9 and "HP Thunderbolt 120W G4 Dock", the "HP USB-C® Dock G5 (120W)" or the "HP USB-C®/A Universal Dock G2 (120W)" it lists: CWW. Meaning: It is charging with warning. So it does not charge under full load.
For the combination ZBook Power G9 and "HP Thunderbolt 280W G4 Dock" it lists: FPC. Meaning: Full Performance Charging.
As PD 1.0 only goes up to 100W (20V/5A), this is PD 1.0 version is probably not supported. Also, from this it looks like the minimum would be a 120W dock/charger, for situations when the ZBook is switched off or perhaps on very low load.
I would look for a dock/charger which supports PD 3.x and at least 140W (28V/5A) and preferably more, like180W (36V/5A) as the normal AC adapter is 150W.
But it would be nice to know a bit more on the exact specifications.
