Hi All,
I did a couple searches for this problem and didn't find anything, but since I'm not exactly sure what to even call it, I may not have searched effectively... So if this is covered somewhere already, my apologies...
I have a G7 ZBook running Windows 11. It goes through periods of time in which when I start work for the day there won't be any sound. The sound trouble shooting app/widget process does not work as it says something to the effect of no sound devices installed. When I go to device manager, the "Sound, video and game controllers" devices are always hidden. I then "show hidden device" and go through an update process which is" right click-update device-browse my computer for driver[because search automatically returns a "this driver is up-to-date"message"]-let me pick from a list of drivers-(select the particular driver)".
Sometimes this won't happen for months, then it happens daily for weeks.
I have not uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled as I'm not positive as to how to get the correct drivers back.
Any thoughts on how to remedy the problem long term?
