Hi everyone, my ZBook x2 G4 is falling apart software-wise and I need your expertise. I'm on Windows 11 Pro, BIOS v01.53 (March 2025). Here is the list of issues:

  • Windows Hello IR Camera: It works in the Camera App, but Windows says "No compatible camera found". Sometimes the Camera App even uses the IR sensor as the main webcam.

  • Fingerprint Sensor: It's detected but fails every scan and register with "Device cannot identify you. Make sure the sensor is clean".

  • Pen & BSOD: Using the stylus for a long time triggers a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD.

  • ExpressKeys: The physical buttons on the right side of the tablet are completely dead. But the LED still lights up; I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue.

  • Screen Burn/Ghosting: My 4K display is getting severe image retention very quickly. Perhaps you have some tips, even if it's beyond repair.

  • For a short time, closing the support activated tablet mode minimized the taskbar, but now it no longer does so.

I've tried reinstalling drivers many times, but nothing sticks.

I know this PC is old (from 2017), but I think I can still use it for a few more years, considering it cost me €3,000.

Before writing a long response, please do the following:
Go to the Control Panel, locate the HP Client Security program, and enable it. It will prompt you for a password – enter it.
Configure the options as desired, then log out.

Please let me know if this helped.

If this response helped you, please mark it as the accepted solution and/or indicate that it was useful.

Best regards.
