hello,

I was wanting to populate my G10 to maximum RAM of 128Gb. I have 2x crucial 32Gb chips to install. Upon installation in slots 1+3 to pair the chips, the laptop will not boot. Any info is gratefully received. Cheers SG

TzotzisG,

Pulled the original 2x32 chips, replaced them with the new ones. had to wait ~4 mins with esc key down to bypass the wolf security

Shut down

re-installed the chip pairs 1 and 2, 2 and 4....same prcedure...esc key down re-boot took a fair while until Wolf came up and said i had changed the mem size..then all good after that seems like the Mobo runs 3600, dunno why the ram required is 5600.. Cheers for the response

Hello Greenman35.

Before we talk about anything else, and due to the intricate nature of UEFI firmware on HP's recent Business notebooks, you should carefully read this discussion: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/hp-ZBook-g8-memory-card-works-... .

If this doesn't help, then we can discuss the rest of the details and try DDxing this.....

Glad it worked (it always does by the way).

Concerning the RAM speed issue, page 11 of the Quickspecs pdf covers the details.

Can't say I fully understand it though....

Cheers!
