Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi folks,

I had the worst support experience in my whole life.

I won't elaborate about the experience i had with HP before i got directed to contact the right support chanel, because i would be an insult.

The issue i had on this computer was that is was terribly slow. I would take from 1 to 2 minutes to boot, with 128 GB of ram. So when i finally go the right department, they agree to repair my laptop under warranty. It was returned to me pretty fast, but i then understood why. All they did, was to format my hard drive and install windows 10 family in english, when my OS was LTSC 21H2 in french... But that's not the issue. The issue is that the laptop is much slower than before, it takes more than 3 minutes to boot, and it's much less reponsive.

So in one word, they didnt fix anything, they just made it worth. Seriously, i didn't think such a level of incompetence could exhist...

They did not find anything abnormal that it takes a ZBook G8 with 128 GB ram more than two minutes to boot...

How can i do to get my laptop professionally repaired ?

Thanks

Hello.

Has the laptop always been this slow, or did the problem develop suddenly? Maybe it's "lost in translation" but did you expand the memory to 128GB and that's when the problem started?

If the extra memory caused the problem, I would try booting the laptop with different memory module/socket combinations to isolate a possibly faulty memory module.

Also, I would in any case recommend installing the latest BIOS (and all other firmware) from HP support page for your model.

If the problem was not caused by the memory expansion:

Slowness could be caused by a failing storage drive, for example. Could you run the UserBenchmark software and compare the results at the same website to other identical CPU/SSD/Memory components there? If the results for RAM/CPU/SSD are much slower than other comparable components, you may have found the culprit. I would also recommend running the full HP UEFI Diagnostics by starting your computer and hitting F2 when HP logo is shown.

Please provide laptop product number if you wish to discuss this further. There have been many different Zbook G8 models.

Spoiler
Tks for your feedback mate.
I ran the benchmark and almost everthing ran ok. I think i found the culpirit. The hd is returning me 151 mo/s on crystaldisk... The genious previous owner had the great idea to put inside Zbook G8 a cheap sata drive....
