Hi guys,
I have a problem with my notebook. Mine is still under warranty but HP won't provide assistance because the country where I am on is not part of the list from whom they would provide support. Anyhow, the problem I am facing is that the Shift, Ctrl, and Fn keys aren't working.
I have tried resetting bios to default settings, uninstalling and reinstalling keyboard drivers, updating the driver to the latest, using old drivers, changing keyboard layout multiple times, tweaking bios to enable disable Fn keys and even buying a new keyboard and having it replaced.
Changing the keyboard did not resolve the issue which clearly confirms that the original keyboard works just fine. Now I am out of options. I am using my laptop for work and mostly word processing hence the Ctrl and Shift key is very important. I hope someone who had the same issues before can share how they managed to fix theirs. Thank you in advance.

I am sorry this has happened. i once had a defective key that was part of my password and it cause a real problem for a while.
Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on and press F2 to run diagnostics.
If the keyboard fails during diagnostics then it is a hardware problem.

Laptop keys can be replaced. Some models are more difficult than others. Usually it is easier to replace a key or two than the keyboard.
There are a number of companies or and you can search for how to do it. or just get a USB keyboard.
