Compaq la2405wg
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just upgraded my laptop computer OS to Windows 10 earlir this week.  Following the upgrade, my laptop could no longer detect the Compaq monitor I have connected to it, and the monitor cannot detect the computer.  There do not appear to be any updated drivers available from HP for Windows 10.  Are there plans to update these drivers, or do I need to look into buying a new monitor?

Hi:

It is not the monitor that has a driver issue, it is the laptop that has a graphics driver issue.

I have the LA2205 WG connected to my HP 8200 Elite CMT desktop PC, and it works fine and W10 installs the correct monitor driver.

That is because the AMD graphics card in my PC has a windows 10 graphics driver.

In order for a notebook to connect to an external monitor, it needs the applicable graphics driver installed.

So, if your notebook does not have W10 graphics drivers on the support page, you will have to wait until HP releases them to the support page.

If you provide the full model number of your notebook, I'll see what options you have.

If your notebook is an older model, HP may not be supporting it with any W10 drivers.

Updated the drivers for the graphics card and for the laptop's docking station.  Everything seems to be working now.

Thanks for your reply.

Hello

I have the same issue. I got a new laptop (HP EliteBook 745 G3 ) under Windows 10 last week. I went to myIT PC support and got confirmed I have the latest graphic drivers (AMD Radeon R6 Graphics) 15.201.1701.1008

Unfortunatelly, I have an external HP COmpaq LA2405wg screen and I can't get the correct resolution (1920 x 1200). Instead, I get a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 which is not appropriate for that screen. And of course, I can't find on HP support web site a driver for LA2405wg that works under Windows10
