I do not need or want the HP Password Manager, yet every time I open a site with FireFox a popout window says I have to get the FireFox password addon in order to use the HP Password Manager. I don't want either one. How to I turn the stupid thing off?
I checked this as a question and the solution- uninstall hp client security does not work, the unistall wizard crashes every time.
HP need to sort out supplying bloatware with their pcs

Hi! @gavin3g, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you would like to disable HP password manager on your PC.
HP password manager is a part of client security manager.
You can try few steps recommended below.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP ProtectTools Security Manager\Bin
and rename DPAgent to DPAgent.old
Then, kill Processes DpAgent.exe and DPAgent.exe *32.
If the above steps do not work please uninstall all the components of HP client security manager. From the steps mentioned below.
Program Files (C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86))
-Program Data (C:\ProgramData)
-AppData (C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local or LocalLow or Roaming. AppData is hidden, so enable 'Show hidden folders' option to find it)
-Delete all files related to HP Client Security from these locations.
Then go to control panel programs and feature and uninstall HP client security manager.
Please let me know the outcome!
Have a great day! 🙂

Hi Chetan,
well, I changed teh file name you suggested.
in task manager there was aDPagent (32) whcih I ended. - actially it had a much longer name but I assume it was what you meant by DP
your instructiosn for uninstalling teh componets of HP security manager are too cryptic for me. you do not state teh fiel or folder names to delete.
I cannot find any files called hp client security in teh locations yoyu suggest.
While we are on HP support:
1) I have a bluetooth mouse, whcih worked for 3 weeks but since I updated teh bioas adn otehr HP updates from HP update manager teh mouse is found by bluetooth but not recognsied by teh alps driver adn hence no longer works.
also right now teh touch pad has no effect so I am having to rely on teh pen.
machine is an Elite X2 1012 and I am increasingly fed up with it . teh constant updating and consequent slowdown of its operation and gradually ancilliaries failing is not good PR for HP.
I trust you have teh expertise adn contacts to resolve these issues .
kind reagerds
gavin

Hi Chelan
HP Elite x2 1012 G1
product no. L5H17ET#ABU
serial no. 5CG6022JHH
windows 10 pro 64 bit
all hp and windows updates installed
office 7 word, excel, outlook, in use
chrome and IE11
Draft sight CAD - not used
List of hardware issues:
Sd card reader does not work - i thought it was a dud card and bouthg another but this was not recognised at all.
front camera does not work with facebook messenger. does work with camera app.
Bluetooth mouse recognised , paired but does not work with driver.
touchpad currently not working
keeps coming up with insuffient memory - blaming chrome.
I usually browse facebook and have 4 or 4 tabs open - gmail, youtube and maybe another page. often but not alwyas run excel for banking or word
I have manually set virtual memory to 4gb on c:\ HDD and on HP D:\ but no help.
I ahve a 128gB usb memory to keep main SSD clear but woudlprefer to sue 64gb sd card leaving usb free for mounse- hence bluetooth mouse purchase.
now have kiwibird dock with HDMI, 2 x USB and large SD in order to run USB mouse whcih is not ideal.
Looking through this discussion teh Elite X2 suffers from SD card reader issues among others.
Previous Win 8 pavillion X2 was much more stable until I dropped it. (didnt work on win 8.1 tho)
previous TC1100 still works except for keyboard issues and is actually faster and more stable but yo ucant type on it!!!
I would appreciate suggestions. PC bought 1 August so just 3 months old. all these issues pretty much from the beginning. but exacerbated by endless upgrades.
oh yes Mcafee antivirus and Trusteer endpoint from my Bank.
thanks for your help
Gavin
