hp elite usb-c docking station
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We are trying to use a HP Elite USB-C docking station (TPA-b01) with a HP Probook 440 G4 running Windows 10 64bit. Even after installing, the drivers Windows does not find the device. The device manager does not even find an unknown device. What are we doing wrong?

Hello

as far as I know such USB-C Docking Station Should be connected to USB A 3.0 port.

Did you try to use the docking on USB 3.0 Port , obsiously you need to connect the powe supply to the USB-C Docking to use it .

Bye

We tried the dock in everything that has a USB C port and nothing detected the dock except an android phone. So we got a USB adapter to plug the dock in to a USB A port. The dock works with the adapter, except it needs to be powered and the dock cant charge the notebook.

Hello

there are several types of USB-C port.

the one of 440 G4 is a basic port, it means it works like a standard USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port.

You can't provide power to the 440 G4 via USB-C . you need to power to notebook with the Power Adapter and the USB-C docking with another power adapter.

So both notebook and USB-C Docking must have the power adapter connected.

bye
