Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have a Elite book 8440p with an Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300 AGN Wi-Fi adapter that randomly disconnects from my  home network and I don't know why.  Out of a dozen devices it is the only one I have this problem with. I have upgraded the BIOS, uninstalled and reinstalled and even purchased and sent back another wireless adapter that was supposed to work that didn't. My adapter has 3 wires whereas the one I tried had 2 wire connections. I would like to solve this problem with a fix or another adapter.

Silly me I thought It would be easy to buy a replacement Wi-Fi adapter for a HP computer!
