probook g11
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello --- I just purchase a HP Probook G11  from HP ---   my  friend also bought a G11, but he got it from a reseller.

What is strange abount his laptop  there are NO hp folders in   "program files" or "program files (x86)"  --  does this

mean anything?   As a business computer it comes with  HP Wolf  security installed -- and that is  burned into the startup screen   but that  folder does not exist  ---

Hi fpefpe,

This is likely because the reseller may have changed the Windows install and used generic Windows Media instead of an HP image. If you want to reinstall an HP version on the device, you can reinstall it over a network connection (Ethernet preferred, but you can connect to wifi in 3rd party option, ROM management in startup by tapping F3 during startup, and connecting to a wifi network and setting it to automatically connect under manage wifi network), by tapping f11 during start up and choosing recover from network.

The HP wolf security is going to be on the splash screen no matter what, and there are some functions of wolf security that function at the BIOS level, regardless of the operating system.  reinstalling
