Hi @obaa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've already updated the drivers and checked the hardware for your HP ENVY X360's touchpad issue without success, here are some additional steps you can try.

  • Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware and software glitches.
  • Function Key: Many laptops have a function key that toggles the touchpad on and off. Look for a key with an icon that resembles a touchpad or mouse. It's usually in the F-row at the top of your keyboard. Press this key while holding down the "Fn" key.
  • BIOS Settings: Sometimes, the touchpad might be disabled in the laptop's BIOS settings. To access BIOS settings, restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (often F2, F10, or Delete) during startup. Look for an option related to the touchpad and ensure it's enabled.
  • Safe Mode: Boot your laptop into Safe Mode to see if the touchpad works there. If it does, it could be a software conflict causing the issue.
  • System Restore: If the touchpad was working before, you could try restoring your system to a point when it was working properly using the System Restore feature.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve compatibility issues. Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date.
  • External Mouse: If you have an external USB mouse, connect it to your laptop to see if it works. If it does, the issue might be specific to the touchpad.
  • Device Manager: Open the Device Manager (right-click the Start button, then select "Device Manager"). Locate the touchpad under "Mice and other pointing devices," right-click it, and select "Uninstall device." Then restart your laptop and let Windows automatically reinstall the touchpad driver.
  • HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant software to check for any specific updates or troubleshooting steps related to your laptop model.
  • Check for Physical Issues: Ensure there is no physical damage or dirt obstructing the touchpad. Gently clean the touchpad surface with a soft cloth.
  • Rollback Driver: If you recently updated the touchpad driver and the issue started afterward, you can try rolling back the driver to the previous version through the Device Manager.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
