HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G8 Mobile Workstation PC (33D87AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Laptop will not start after pressing the power button. I have to hold for 30 secs in order to do a reset and then it boots up.

I have done available test with hp diagnostic tool and all passes except battery for which it says it cannot be performed for some reason.

I entered bios and tried to run diagnostics there but it froze...

When you shut down a modern laptop, it does not power off; instead, it goes into a form of hybrid sleep -- which often causes problems when trying to awaken it.

When you hold down the power button for 30 seconds or longer, you are doing a Cold Start -- meaning -- it is actually powering the laptop off, not putting it to sleep.  If it starts OK after that, it means that sleeping is the issue.

You need to then go into Control Panel (not Settings), the Power options and have the laptop Shut Down when you press the power button.  It will take longer to restart, but it should restart OK every time after that.

Unfortunatelly this is not the case. When I press the power button the computer shuts down, as it is set in control panel/power options. So nothing has changed again with my setting prior to this and I have to do a cold reset everytime I try to turn the computer on now which is ridiculous.

If it is still having issues even when powering off, I don't know what to tell you.

I am not having problems powering off but powering ON. Computer is not on battery but on cable. Nevertheless I have also changed the setting for battery, but the problem remains.

Again the problem is with power on. The computer does not respond to simple pressing the power button to power on regularly but I have to press it for 30 seconds to work.

Sorry, I don't know what to tell you.  Pressing the power button for 30 seconds does a COLD reboot of the laptop, but powering it off and then  powering back on later, when it is set to Shut Down, does the same thing. If the first works, so should the second.

Sorry but it is not the same and I have two same laptops to compare one at work and one at home, and just this at home makes trouble even though the settings are the same nor they have changed prior to this.

I will wait for the HP to respond or somebody with similar issue.
