They are compatible, the difference is that the one you currently have has discrete graphics (598668-001) the other one does not, the graphics is integrated to the processor, and then you must also change the heat sinks.

yes, but you must replace the heat sinks with the fan. see manual please

I understand there there are cooling assemblies with different part numbers for the two motherboards. the non-discrete graphics motherboard looks the same, only the gpu and ram chips are missing, the rectangles where they would go are clearly visible.
shouldnt it be ok the use the cooling assembly meant for discrete gpu on the mobo without this gpu? it should have the correct shape, just have an additional unused cooling pad, no?
