Hello
"protected by HP Sure Start" is just a picture included in the BIOS.
when I have notebooks behaving in such way, what I do is to open the bottom cover, them disconnect the main battery, the memory and the SSD.
then I reconnect the battery and try to power on. if it beeps , I will power off , install only the memory . The again Power on, if the computer boots correclty, I switch off again and reinstall the SSD.
Usually with eveything reinstalled it works fine.
I hope this could solve the problem with your 840 G6
