Hi @Thuraa,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that your HP EliteBook 840 is not booting and the Caps Lock light keeps blinking. The blinking pattern can help identify the startup issue.
Please try the following steps:
Perform a power reset:
Turn off the notebook and disconnect the AC adapter and any connected peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, reconnect the AC adapter, and try turning it on.
Observe the Caps Lock light:
If the notebook still does not boot, check whether the Caps Lock light blinks in a repeating pattern.
Count the number of long and short blinks before the sequence repeats.
Check the display:
When you turn on the notebook, check whether the screen remains completely blank or displays the HP logo.
Could you also confirm the full model name of your HP EliteBook 840 (for example, EliteBook 840 G5, G6, or G7) and the Caps Lock blink pattern?
These details will help determine the appropriate next troubleshooting steps.
Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
