HP Elitebook 2760p Tablet

Hi, I've been having an issue with my laptop lately. I lost the cord for about a week, the battery had died, and then i went to go charge it, it turned on, everything seemed alright, until i saw in the taskbar it wasn't detecting a battery. and then the the orange charge light started blinking. i tried taking the battery out, putting it back in, i tried taking the laptop apart and looking for cracked solder joints, found none, put it back together and it still wont charge! it works great, but i just want the battery to work without buying a new one, because this battery is only a few months old. If i dont have a choice, oh well, ill buy a new one.

Hello.

If your battery is only a few months old, then you should ask for refund. If you bought the battery from a company, warranties and consumer protection laws apply.

It may be that your battery was "new old stock". Check the labels for manufacturing date. Since your laptop is over 10 years old and the battery only fits laptops of that era, it may have been slowly degrading on some shop shelf until you bought it.

If you cannot find a freshly manufactured battery for your laptop, there are battery specialist companies that can replace the battery cells inside the battery case to get proper performance, but due to the labour involved, it probably costs more than a "new" battery.

the battery itself was a (supposedly) newly made battery from amazon, i might be able to get a new one or at the very least a refund. since it's not my only computer or even my only laptop, it's not a big deal at all. ill try to get a new battery soon, and just have it be cord-only for a short period. it just makes me a little frustrated that the battery already stopped working after just a couple months.
