HP 255 15.6 inch G10 Notebook PC (78U77AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

et al:
Just setup the new HP Laptop/Notebook and connected to the HP G5 Docking station...
Internet is working but the monitors as well as the power are not.
I downloaded and updated the docking station but still no go.
Anyone have any thoughts as to why the docking station is NOT functioning with this laptop?
Thanks, BGunn

Hi @BGunn64

The monitors and power will not work because the laptop's USB-C port is not compatible with DisplayPort and Power Delivery.

Well... that sucks and is sort of dumb in my opinion.

But thank you for pointing out the issue. That was something that I did not think to research when getting the new laptop.

You're welcome, glad to help you find a solution.

I'm sorry, but those features are generally only available on high-end laptops.

You can only use DisplayLink Docks to connect other monitors. Here is a link where you can find out more about those docks.
