we are trying to image new 1040 g8 laptops using SCCM PXE.
When we enter pxe, the sccm first black and white screen works fine. Then the HP logo appears where the SCCM pxe schoud appear, but the pxe stops there.
we updated the HP client PXE to 2.0 and added the nic, chipset and storage for the laptops to the boot image.
we are able to image G6 laptops with no issues...
Any input would be great

Hello
you problem description is not very clear.
as 1040 G8 is missign an integrated NIC, which device are you using to connect the lapton to LAN ?
is it an HP USB-C-to-RJ45 dongle or an HP USB-C Docking or a HP Thunderbolt Docking ?
is the boot image (boot.wim) downloaded and executed or the process stops before to download it ?
bye

The laptop is connected to a HP usb-c/a universal dock g2 5YH40AV#ABA
the PXE boot does the first two windows after pressing enter:
1. quick download
2. then the wim file
at this point the screen goes back to the HP boot screen and freezes.
usually after the wim file download we get the sccm password prompt bu not with this model laptop

Hello
I understood this:
PXE works
boot.wim file is downloaded from SCCM server
when boot.wim is launched , instead of having WinPE working and starting SCCM Task sequence, you always see HP logo.
do you know the WinPE version of your boot.wim file ?
I mean boot.wim is the file starting SCCM Task Sequence, it's a WinPE environment.
Which Windows 10 version are you trying to install viaSCCM ? is WinPE version aligned with Windows 10 version ?
did you try to put such boot.wim to a USB key and tried to boot from there instead of PXE ?
bye
