HP EliteBook 850 G7 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 11

okay so my elitebook 850 g7 is stuck on the secure boot screen right when i turn the laptop on . and it’s asking for my authorization by entering in the 4 digit number it has on the screen and so every time i enter the 4 digit number in and hit enter there’s like one split sec i have before it shut down and just loops the same process. i’ve literally tried absolutely everything. i 100 percent can confirm that this is not a hardware issue as everything was just fine prior to me turning off the secure boot in bios. and as soon as i rebooted my pc this happened. and please help!!! also might i add that when the pc turns onvv by the fan is running non stop pretty loud . and after i enter the four digit pin and hit enter i can hit esc real fast and i notice at the bottom left hand of the screen that the pc recognized that i did that and just as soon as i can see that it looks like it’s about to load up bios . BOOOOOM! turns off and turns it’s self right back on . and around and around we go .. it’s been about a week now i’ve been without my pc and it’s beginning to worry me . I can’t find any solution on the internet so far please help me out someone .

You enter the 4 digits correctly?

After entering the 4 digits the laptop should reboot to apply the changes. But in your case, this Physical Presence Interface comes back again, asking you to re-enter the 4 digits again?

I have a similar issue, although mine doesn't display that Physical Presence Interface but a HP Sure Start warning, and it happened when retoring factory defaults.

It's like changes to the secure boot fail to apply, and the laptop gets stuck in this loop.

yeah , and have you spoken with hp? because they want me to send my laptop in without giving me any explanation as to what’s going on or why they need me to send it in. and then it seems like what their telling me is if they find anything wrong with the laptop and i don’t have their “accidental damage” plan added to my warranty . that then all repairs will be chargeable to me . which just baffles the gel out of me . like my laptop was completely fine ! my space bar key has a nic in it. and one of the little plastic clips on the back plate broke off as i took it off too add a ram stick in the past . but it still clips on no problem . no hardware issues whatsoever. and i’m afraid as soon as i send this **bleep** thing in i’m not going to be able to get it back without paying for all these repairs . when I just changed a few **bleep** settings in bios ... that’s all ! that’s literally all ! and their being really shady about the whole thing. I really don’t know what to do . It feels like i’m dealing with a bunch of con artist . and i’ve been out of a laptop now for almost 3 weeks . not counting how ever long it’s going to take them to “diagnose” the issue and get it back to me .

Did you try to recover the bios?

dude i **bleep**ing got it . i was on biosmods.com and searching comments and found a user that stated he was A higher up customer support manager for HP for many years and he mentioned something about holding down all 4 arrows trick during pc start up and so i did and i didn’t work at first . but i notice it didn’t just rush to the secure boot message as quick and so held all 4 arrows down continuously for like 3-4 times of restarting the pc and **bleep**ing a!!!!! it worked Imputed completely to a different message I hit escape and it’s like nothing ever happened before

Yes, this is also an alternative method for win+B that was used mostly in older Gens.

@Alijahjreed

Could you post a small vídeo showing how it works?

Do you press all 4 arrow keys and then the power button?

Should the laptop be plugged to the charger ?

Do I need the USB Bios recovery PEN?

hey sorry for the late response . but unlike in the first message that i stated where i held all four arrow keys down . i was incorrect Because once I rebooted the machine it did the same thing again but again I was able together by the brick by repeatedly hitting all 4 arrow keys down at once . then holding them in for a sec and then continue rapidly pressing them all down all while the machine is booting up. i’m sorry it doesn’t sound so simple . because it simply isn’t . you just have to continuously do it until you get passed the issue . the only reason i kept trying and trying was because even when it wasn’t working . i was noticing that the machine was reacting to the key presses by taking long to boot and display the secure boot message i was bricked at . i really hope you can get it to work . i was devastated. my laptop is $2800 dollars not just some disposable amount of money that i had . but if you want to email me or some how direct message me i’ll give you my number and gladly facetime you through the process exactly how i got it to work. because i don’t believe my solution was an exact solution i just believe i was able to bug the brick so to speak to bypass into the bios . and now the machine is back to brand new with out a sign of this **bleep** ever happening . so what ever you do ... do not waste your money and send it in to hp to get repaired . they will break your  **bleep** laptop and charge you to repair it .
