the mechanical hard drive failed so I'm replacing with an ssd unit. Could not clone the drive so I'm installing Win_11 Pro.
Do we know whether this will work well or at all.

If it has an AMD Ryzen 3xxx processor W11 is supported, if not, the processors do not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements and you would have to use a workaround to install W11 which bypasses the W11 hardware checks.
If your notebook's processor does not meet the W11 hardware requirements, you can install W10 Pro, and watch this video for how to easily upgrade to W11 Pro:

OK I checked and the devise in question has an AMD Ryzen 3 4core chip.
I don't have a CQ or HP disk it a MS build, so will I need the SYSTEM ENHANCEMENTS
The HP support site does not show win 11 as an option for this machine.

I don't know what that means.
I installed W11 Pro 24H2 on two 255 G7's back in 2021 when it first came out, and those had lousy A4-9120 processors, and it works fine.
I used the W10 drivers for any devices that W11 didn't install.
Just make a bootable W11 Installation drive with the media creation tool from the link below (2nd option) and clean install W11 on the new drive.
