HP ProBook 450 G8 Notebook PC (464P0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I bought this laptop in Sep 05, 2022.
When I enter the serial number to check, it says warranty started April 29, 2022.

"Wty: HP Support for Initial Setup" - is Expired.

How it`s impossible?

I just bought it.

I can’t even reach someone at HP on the phone/chat(HP Virtual Agent - very bad).
I have a receipt from the store. It confirms the date of purchase.

Hi @warranty_issue

This is not a problem. The invoice/warranty document you have is the actual document and acts as a proof of purchase. This is what counts should you need in-warranty support from HP or local HP service partners.

The warranty date in the system you see online starts from when HP sells the product to a major distributor or when the PC gets out of the factory. Since you didn't order directly from HP factory but from a local store, you see a difference because HP cannot know exactly when you purchase it. For example: here in your case HP might have manufactured the product in April 2022 and sold it to a major IT tech store in your country. The local tech store kept the product in a box for a few months unused (from April till September) and sold it (re-sold it) to you in September.

There is a process to dispute the warranty for home class products (consumer products) >> https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05084516

but it is not applicable for your case since you have a Probook (business class commercial product). Therefore, for your country it is the the documents/PoP that applies.

  • In case you need a hardware repair (in-warranty service), this is how to reach HP authorized service centers/partners >> https://www.hp.com/bg-bg/contact-hp/phone-assist.html
  • If you need software help, general help or questions from HP or HP Community, feel free to post back here.
