Printer has been set up and has been printing labels fine for months and now suddenly it prints askew and it will not print from my computer if i am printing labels it starts to print then just goes back to home screen and spits the paper out.

It sounds like there might be a few issues causing your printer to print askew and not print labels correctly. 

 

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

 

  • Check the Label Settings: Make sure that the label settings in your printer software or print dialog box match the type and size of labels you are using. Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause the printer to print off-center.
  • Inspect the Label Sheets: Ensure that the label sheets are loaded properly into the printer tray. Make sure they are aligned correctly and not skewed or crooked.
  • Clean the Printer Rollers: Dust and debris can accumulate on the printer rollers over time, causing paper feed issues. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to clean the rollers. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to access and clean the rollers properly.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.
  • Reset Printer Preferences: If you are printing from a computer, try resetting the printer preferences to default settings. This can help clear any corrupted settings that may be causing the issue.
