on my hp zbook 14u G5 mobile laptop, (product: 2GY06AV; serial: [Personal Information Removed]); in the startup Menu, there is the 3rd party option Rom management , I would like to know what it is for and if it is possible to delete the existing settings, I tried but the item to delete the settings does not appear anywhere.
I personally have never configured it and I did not notice if it was already there or if it is recent. I would also like to know if it is safe for my connection.
When i access on 3rd party Rom managment i see : drivers, network device list ,then a Mac address , then Intel(r) enthernet connection (4) 1219-V ( Mac address) , then nic configuration and Port configuration , uffi driver : Intel (R) Gigabit 0.0.18
they cannot be modified, and I have never configured them,
I would like to know if they are factory settings or if it is a hardware component that can be removed.

The option ROM that I am most familiar with is alternate booting: Instead of booting from a local HDD or SDD you can boot from a network drive.
Add in cards for desktop systems have their on built in ROM BIOS and the PC's BIOS can give control to the card. You can boot from a card that had an NVME card or you can enabled or disable high speed networking in an add-in card.

Option ROM settings in BIOS are used to manage firmware for peripheral devices like network cards, storage controllers, and graphics cards1. Here are some key benefits:
Device Initialization: Option ROMs help initialize peripheral devices during the boot process1.
Boot Options: They can add additional boot options, allowing the system to boot from devices like RAID controllers or network cards2.
Compatibility: Ensures compatibility and proper functioning of peripheral devices1.
UEFI Support: For UEFI-compatible systems, Option ROMs enable UEFI boot sequences and firmware-level security features3.
Would you like to know more about how to configure these settings in your BIOS?
