Product: Hp compaq 6300 pro microtower
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
when i start the pc, it beeps 4 times.....i have tried everything from the removal of ram to dvd rom....i have reset everything but the problem remain same.

are you installing the ram in the correct sockets?
first bank is the black socket farthest away from the CPU socket, try with just one ram module
are you using the correct ram? this system needs specific ram types as some modules will not work even if the right speed
as a last step (or quick fix) simply replace the motherboard or power supply
both items are available right now on ebay
13.00 for a working 6300 pro motherboard
25/35 dollars for the power supply depending on if it's a SFF or min tower type (you need the mini tower unit)
as a side note the 6300 pro board can be replaced with the 8300 elite board which is the exact same board but with two 16 pci-e slots installed ( the 6300 has the traces for the missing socket but only has a x1 slot installed)
the HP z220 SFF motherboard also uses the same form factor, and should also have the same rear panel I/O as the 6300/8300
