I'm thinking to buy a HP ProDesk 400 G7 SFF with only SSD, and before I would like to know if there is the possibility to add an internal 3.5 HDD.

I know that many prebuilt do not come with more sata power cable than necessary, so I'm asking here hoping someone has already experience with this pc.

Of course I would have to buy a SATA Data cable, but I'm not sure if there is any SATA Power cable available.

Thanks!

@andyn33,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

If your HP ProDesk 400 G7 SFF desktop is fitted with an optical disc drive (9.5 mm, slim, tray load), and you want a second SSD or HDD in your (mini) SFF -there's not a lot of space available as this illustration shows:

This would be my recommendation: replace your optical drive with a "9.5mm 2.5'' SATA to SATA 2nd HDD SSD Hard Drive Caddy Adapter Tray Kit" such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/Szwilnis-Universal-Adapter-Enclosure-Superdrive/dp/B09FHSSG9M/ref=pb_allspark..., this ought to free up one data and one SATA power cable for your second SSD/HDD.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
