Age of printer

@Jake86101,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

To find out when an HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer was manufactured, you can usually locate the manufacturing date on a label or sticker on the printer itself. Here's what I would do to find out:

  1. Check the Printer Label/Sticker:

    • Look for a label or sticker on the printer. This label is usually located on the back, bottom, or inside the printer's access panel.
    • The label may contain various information, including the printer's serial number, model number, and manufacturing date.
    • The manufacturing date might be represented in different ways, such as "MFG Date," "Manufactured On," or similar terms.
  2. Decode the Date*:

    • Once you find the manufacturing date on the label, it might be in the format of MM/YYYY (month and year) or DD/MM/YYYY (day, month, and year).
    • If the label doesn't show the manufacturing date explicitly, it might show the serial number. Some HP printer serial numbers contain information about the manufacturing date within them. You can sometimes decode this information using HP's support resources or by contacting HP support.
  3. HP Support Resources:

    • You can also check HP's official support website or contact their customer support for assistance. They might have tools or guides to help you interpret the information on the label.
  4. User Manual:

    • If you have the printer's user manual, it might include information about where to find the manufacturing date on the printer and how to interpret it.

Keep in mind that the exact location of the manufacturing date and how it's represented can vary from one printer to another. If you're having trouble locating the manufacturing date or interpreting the information, reaching out to HP's customer support with the printer's serial number and other relevant details may help you get accurate information about when your specific printer was manufactured.  -Actually, on second thought, scratch that last suggestion.  It is almost impossible to speak to an HP rep, and they would be less than motivated to assist you if your printer is out of warranty.

* This is how you may decrypt your printer's serial number:

1.) The first two characters are the country code.
2.) The third character is the code of the supply site.
3.) The next three characters are the date of manufacture, the first digit is for the year the next two for the calendar week.
4.) The last four characters are a sequential ID on that particular week.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
