Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A couple of days ago i did a clean install of Windows 10. I have dowloaded drivers from hp.com and one of the driver installer don´t work as expected and has worked like this for over a year and it needs to be fixed.

If i install Realtek Audio Driver Windows 7/8/8.1/10, ver 6.0.1.7945 Rev.A (sp78721.exe) i am promted at the end to restart the computer. When the computer starts the installer starts from the beginning and install the drivers once again. When done i am promted to restart the computer one more time and the installer starts again. The only way to stop it from looping is to click cancel and ignore the restart. If i restart the computer the installer is launched each time i restart the computer, yes over and over again and again and again and again...

This happened with an older version of the driver when i installed it on my computer one year ago.

Please fix this since it is annoying. 🙂

Hi:

Did you try the latest audio driver directly from Realtek?

Accept the agreement.   Download and install the 2nd driver on the list.

Hi Paul,

Did you try the latest audio driver directly from Realtek?

I tried now and it works the same way the driver i downloaded from HP.

I was wrong about this whole thing and did not read *why* the restart was needed... When one start the installer it detects the drivers Win 10 has installed and un-install them. After that a re-start must be done. When the installer starts again the actual install of the new driver starts. When done, a new re-start is needed but then everything works. *blushing slightly*

I guess i am too used to one (1) restart and never read the dialogs.

Aha!

Glad you figured out what the problem was.
