Hi! I am cobbling some stuff together that I got from work, and the last piece to my puzzle is a battery or capacitor that attaches to the memory of a P841 array controller. Everything I find online that claims to work has a totally different connector in the photo of the item, or a lot more wires connecting to the connector. Is there an actual part that works? When I scrounged the P841, the power was being taken with a cable to a daughterboard in the enclosure, specifically made for it, and I have the card in a workstation at home not specifically made for the controller, so I don't have a port on the motherboard that I can plug into for the power. Thanks! 🙂

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DITCH THE hp p841 CARD IT'S A SLOW PCI-E 3 12GBPS SAS/6GBps SATA  LOWEND CARD that is found in many HP gen 9 servers it's designed for read intensive workloads and for a normal user you want a card that  has almost equal R/W specs

the p841 (part# HP 726903-B21) uses drivers that lack support for newer server OS's and as for non server drivers they never existed in the first place

the card uses the "HPE Smart Storage Battery" the cost of which would get you a nice LSI or adaptec ASR raid card that would be faster and have necessary driver support for all server and non server OS'S

so if the above hasn't convinced you here's the necessary battery backup module need
