No matter the PCIE card installed, Gen 2 or Gen 3, the current speed in the Slot BIOS settings always shows GEN 1, 2.5 GPS. Is this normal? I've reset CMOS. No change, still only GEN 1. Graphics card is NVIDIA P2000, a GEN 3 card. It shows as GEN 1 in the bios slot setting. Advice welcomed.

there is nothing wrong with your video card or computer
video cards made in the past 8 years or so have the ability to downclock to a lower power state to reduce power consumption they will also downclock to a lower pci-e bus speed when in this lower power state and will auto magickly upshift to the faster settings when a load is placed on the card such as engaging the cards 3d rendering capabilities
you can test this by running a video intensive app such as cinebench and also have GPU-Z running, or just run gpu-z
GPU-Z will show you your current PCI-E speed and it also has a test to max it out
