Trying to get Bluetooth on this tower to link up with my LG phone, but neither device can find the other. I did have this phone connected to my (old, dead 3410f) & it connects to my home phone system & car just fine, so I know it's not the phone.
I have verified the BT adapter is installed & the correct drivers have been down loaded. It shows as being ready & I have the settings set to make both the phone & tower discoverable but no joy :mansad:

Hi,
The z230 does not have Bluetooth:
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04111362
Option: Please try
http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/targus-bluetooth-4-0-usb-adaptor-taacb75au
There are many brands and models around, cheaper too.
Regards.

Hi, @miked2095 :
From what I can tell from your screenshot, your PC does have the optional bluetooth.
It also appears to me like the device listed under the Bluetooth Radios category is labeled as a Generic Bluetooth Adapter, correct?
That is why the BT is not working. The generic BT driver installed by Microsoft rarely gets the bluetooth to work.
You need to install the applicable bluetooth driver for the model bluetooth adapter your PC has.
If you can post the hardware ID for the generic bluetooth adapter, I will see what driver it needs.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.

Correct Paul, there are 2 devices listed -
Generic Bluetooth Adaptor
USB\VID_0489&PID_E04E&REV_0001
USB\VID_0489&PID_E04E
Microsoft BT Enumerator
BTH\MS_BTHBRB
I also have a wireless mouse, but it has it's own dongle & is working perfectly.
