Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey Guys,

i upgraded my HP Z2 G3 from Intel Xeon E3 to Intel i7 8700 for a compatble Win11 CPU.
But after the replacement, the Computer beep with 3xRed and 5x white. The Supportsite let me know, the CPU is not compatible with this PC!?
So i upgraded the Bios to the latest Version.
Reset CMOS Battery and disable TPM. But the PC only run with the old CPU.
Do yo have an Idea?

Thank.
Greets from Germany

I assume you mean the Z2 Mini G3. Search google for hp z2 mini g3 cpu upgrade. Go to the "videos" result subsection and review a good number of the youtube videos there. Go back to the "all" subsection and review HP forum posts on this topic.

A good one is from NS777, HERE. For such a restricted form factor I'd stick with what HP has officially certified as a processor for that device. Note that if you install a hotter running certified processor than what originally came with the device there may be other parts that HP also would have included at the factory that you don't know about.

I'm not a big fan of the tiny form factor. Hard to work with and constrained by heat issues and lack of internal space. But they are attractive.
